I've played Emerald's dress-ups, and they use decorated standard backrounds. How do i create a backround without spending a boat-load of emeralds?

The animal maker is often used. Also, by buying some small things (like the large square from the building pack, which is 25 emeralds), you easily get to make new stuff. There are also some pretty backgrounds made in the horse maker. Hair or fur are used for grass, for example. Elephant parts are often used for trees. Oh, bodies from the dragon maker are often used as rocks.

It's using your imagination. And in FAQ there is a great tutorial from emerald about making backgrounds!
I suddenly realised that I use flowers alot, and actually called it my signature. So TADAA:

thx! I just hope i have enough imagination to be able to make a nice backround! But i have 1 more question, in emerald's lioness dress up, she was able to use that sort of Grecian backround, do u know how she did that?

It's actually one of the regular background. No, wait, sorry. It's a middleground :) But she added the flowers and the pattern on the ground, though I don't know how :)

Those makers were a bit of a cheat, I can't use site backgrounds now either ;)

I made those before the dress up maker was even made, lol. So those backgrounds were just saved to my computer from the maker. I was going to just build some dress up games myself in Flash (a computer program) with the pieces I made in the Magic Makers.

Boo saw me do that, and decided to make the dress up maker. I uploaded all those back to the site (with some fancy coding by Boo) in order to test the dress up maker without having to make new pieces :P

I want to do a series of tutorials on getting the most bang for your buck as far as backgrounds go... What I recommend is buying the square from the building pack, a few good multipurpose patterns (they are pretty cheap), and then using treasures and regular pieces from the makers to jazz things up :)

(As to that background, the flowers and stuff are just market pieces, the ground is just some basic shapes with a pattern applied to it.... I love patterns. I bought those first :P)
