How do I add and buddy and what does it do?

I was asked a good question today, I thought other people might want to know the answer as well.

"umm... how can you get people to be your buddy? and what can you do with buddies?"                           

Right now, you click "Add to Buddy List" in the person's profile. Then, if they are online and you are viewing the member list, they will have a little green square by their name. Thats about all it does right now.

We are working on a full friends list where the other person will have to approve your friend request. There will probably be treasures and such for making friends. I would like to have a gift system too (like maybe dedicating images or buying and sending pieces to each other) but I'm not sure if we will be able to figure that part out.
