One question- What is a graphics tablet exactly? Is it an art tool, or something else entirely? And if it is an art tool, what would the price range be for a used one?

I think that it's ok as long as YOU created the character and it hasn't been entered in another contest,as well as the fact that it CAN be old ones.Not for sure though,lol.

Roseyred: Yep, oc is just short for original character.

Harrierborn52: A graphics tablet is something that you draw on and then it draws on the screen. So its just an easier way of drawing on the computer. Most of the nice ones are sold by http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/. There are fairly inexpensive ones, but there is a little bamboo that is only about $70 (you want one with a pen so you can draw). I haven't used a bamboo before, but I have a intuos and a small cintiq. I love them
