lol... I suggest starting with some sort of writing implement. I have heard pens and pencils work well :P

Other than that, my best advice is to draw from life and photos a lot. There are lots of good pics online ;)

Practice makes perfect! It took me about seven years to draw as I draw now, and it's alright now, but still not good. (I refer to my pic in freehand colouringbook. I'm slightly better than that in real life.)
I've never drawn armor though, anyday soon I'm gonna start my first attempt. I think that shading with armor is important, since it reflects, you know. But further... I wouldn't have a clue!
I suddenly realised that I use flowers alot, and actually called it my signature. So TADAA:

With lots of thanks to Dragonlord Daegen for making my beautiful signature!

In general, anything metallic/reflective is difficult. The shading on those kinds of objects change as you look at them. I normally look at an object in real life, and then stylize the reflections I see onto the thing I am drawing :)

Hmm... I'd have to say look at a reference. It's easier to create armor if you've seen quite a few pics or examples. It took me about a year and half to master armor, so like Flower said, practice makes perfect! :P
