And some more tips for an OC you'll love:

1.   Think about yourself. What sort of things do you like? What do you enjoy doing? What colors or patterns do you like? Consider using one or more of these in your design.
2.   Be creative when deciding what your OC will be. I believe that currently, wolf OCS are far too common. Again, consider yourself. What is your favorite animal? What animal are you most like personality-wise? If possible, invent your own.
3.   Sometimes, the best design is a simple design. Don't get too crazy with markings and patterns; stick with a theme, and go with it. Often. basing the patterns off of real creatures is very striking on mytholigical creatures.
4.   Consider what your OC is. A vegetarian wolf does not make a very convincing OC. Follow species guidelines.
5.   Make it a well-rounded character- don't leave it at the design. Give it a unique set of personality traits and an interesting history. Does the character have any phobias? Favourite activities? A sense of mischief? A psychological disorder such as OCD or ADHD? Personal habits- does he/she tend to wind their hair when nervous, or do they have a twitchy paw? All these things help create a fully-formed character.
6.   Accessories- again, the best set of extras is the simplest.Too many bracelets, necklaces, and magic scepters all to one character can become an eyesore, and I do think, rather annoying. Choose one or two items that never leave the character's side- something personal works well, or something you've always wanted but never owned. Just don't get too crazy; keep it simple. Of course, sometimes a nice garishly-clothed, overly-bejewelled magpie is fun.
7.   Review the character once you're done. Does everything pull together right? Are there any glitches in their histories that need to be ironed out? Is there anything going against the laws of nature(vegetarian wolves)? Are you happy with the physical design? Doo the accessories add to your character, or do they make the character seem garish? Be sure you're happy with the character before sharing it, or else it can be awkward as you make change after change to the design. I've made that mistake before.

Great job, both of you. Actually, Shynaera was based from my soul, as was East. I call them my soul-sonas, since I no longer have a 'sona that represents my appearance, but mind and heart.  Nae has a strange theme about her. She is part unspecified canine, part unspecified ungulate, and part alien. No, not OOWEEEOOO outer-space alien. Alien as in something strange, something…different. And she was born from the spirits of the forest and ocean, if that makes sense.
She also has a younger, obnoxious brother, but shhh, he's not in the picture right now. I had a name for him but I forgot soo ^-^;;

I rarely actually base 'sonas- or OCs- off of my own appearance. They're all based off of my soul, or reflect different parts of my soul. I think that's the best 'sona; something that simply looks like you isn't really you. You are not what you look like, but what lies beneath what people see.

I never used this, but night shadow followed most of this anyway... I figured the base of her history, her name (well, she has two names, night shadow isn't her real name lol, it's just what she "changed" her name to), and her colouring within one or two days, but the personality I originally gave her, it is totally mine and didn't fit AT ALL... give me three-quarters of a year after I originally signed her up as my first ever role-play charrie, with me pretending to be her when I'm supposed to be asleep, fleshing out her past and personality, and finally she's finished! and I must say she's my fave... if I find an appropriate rp on here I'll sign her up (I use her EVERYWHERE I can rofl) and you can see what she's like.

>_< seriously? I wish you are more sociable night shadow...

Night shadow: *comes back but stays silent and apparently unfeeling*

oh come ON

night shadow: *still stays silent and expressionless*

Night Shadow: I'd say something but there are other people here... *walks off again*

>_< that didn't really show much did it?
